Tails.com is among the finalists for the startups.co.uk Tech Business of the Year 2016 award.
It's fantastic to see external recognition of the technical complexity of formulating, fulfilling and delivering individual blends of tailor-made food for more than 40,000 dogs across the UK every month.
We put a lot of thought into designing and building a UX that hides as much of that complexity from our customers as possible, as any good consumer business should. When talking with potential new team members during a phone screen I'll often start by talking about the scope and complexity of the technical platform we've built, because it's not immediately apparent from our consumer-facing brand. Awards like this will definitely help make those conversations easier, and help to firmly establish tails.com as a tech-centric company.
This nomination comes on top of being placed #14 in the startups 100 list of UK-based startups worth watching earlier this year. We're also in the running for the Product Business of the Year, Retail Business of the Year and People's Champion awards. Heady times!
P.S. If you're interested in solving complex technical challenges whilst making a real difference to dogs and their owners, we're hiring. Get in touch or head to tails.com/careers to find out more.
UPDATE: In a really strong category full of pure tech businesses we won the commendation award for Tech Business of the Year 2016, the trophy for which is proudly on display in the ever-growing the tails.com trophy cabinet. Woohoo!
